This should hopefully be rendered inline: $\frac{E}{mc^2} + e^{i \pi} = 0$. And this might conceivably be rendered as display:
$$P(\mathbf{\theta|x}) = \frac{P(\mathbf{x|\theta}) P(\mathbf{\theta)}}{P(\mathbf{x})}$$
